Privacy and Data Protection Policy

Hong Kong St. John Ambulance attaches great importance to and is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and supporters. The Organization has established appropriate procedures to ensure: 

1. Fair and Lawful Processing of Data 

    All personal data shall be collected, used, and retained in a lawful and fair manner. 

2. Data Obtained Only for Specific Legitimate Purposes 

    Data will be used solely for clear and lawful purposes, and not for any unauthorized use. 

3. Data Adequate, Relevant, but Not Excessive 

    Data collected will be limited to what is necessary to achieve the stated purposes, without excess. 

4. Data Accuracy and Currency 

    The Organization will take reasonable measures to ensure data is accurate and regularly updated. 

5. Retention Period Not Exceeding Necessity 

    Data will only be retained for the period required to fulfill the relevant purposes, after which it will be securely deleted or 

    anonymized. 

6. Respect for Data Subjects’ Rights 

    Data processing will comply with the rights of data subjects, including access, correction, and other lawful entitlements. 

7. Appropriate Protection of Data 

    The Organization will adopt technical and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of data. 

8. No Transfer to Insufficiently Protected Locations or Countries 

    Data will not be transferred to jurisdictions that fail to provide adequate safeguards or do not comply with relevant legal 

    requirements.
