    1. What number should I call for a free emergency ambulance service?
      The number for free St John emergency ambulance service is 1878 000 (24 hours).
    2. What are the office hours of the offices?
      • Association, Brigade and Council Offices:
        Mondays to Fridays, 8:30 a.m. - 6:18 p.m. (Closed during lunch hours from 12:45 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. except the cashier counter at 4/F)
      • Youth Office:
        Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 a.m. - 6:48 p.m. (Closed during lunch hours from 12:45 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
      • All Offices : Closed on Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays

    A) Application procedures
    1. Can I apply course during lunch hours?
      The cashier counter located at 4/F, St John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong opens during lunch hours.
    2. If I pay by cheque, to whom should I make it payable?
      Please make the cheque payable to "Hong Kong St John Ambulance".
    3. How can I make application for a course?
      Option 1:
      To apply in person at Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F., St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong during office hours.
      Option 2:
      To apply by mail, please send a duly completed application form together with a crossed cheque to Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F., St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong. The application will be processed within approximately 14 working days.
      Option 3:
      To apply by fax (fax no. 2976 0457) or by email (email:assn.pps@stjohn.org.hk), please also call 2530 8020 to 2530 8024, or email to assn.pps@stjohn.org.hk to obtain the PPS payment code. The applicant must settle the payment within two working days after receiving the PPS payment code. Otherwise, the application will not be accepted.

    4. Can I make a course application at any of the St John Training Centers?
      No service centers are available at the Training Centers. In-person course applications are only accepted at Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F., St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong.
    5. Can I apply course for other person?
      Yes, a course application may be submitted by an authorized representative, provided it is the full version with signature.
    6. Apart from the course fee, are there any other charges for applying the First Aid Certificate course?
      Course applicants are advised to purchase a pack of bandages and two face shields (for mouth-to-mouth resuscitation).
    7. How can I purchase course manual and bandages?
      If you did not purchase the course manual and bandages at the time of registration, you may buy them at the Reception of the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F., St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong, during office hours.
    8. My First Aid Certificate has expired, can I apply for the One Day Refresher Course?
      Applicants holding an expired First Aid Certificate of not more than six months are eligible to apply for the One Day Refresher Course.
    B) Class attendance
    1. In case I cannot attend the class, is there any make-up class?
      There is no make-up class. Candidates who fail to achieve at least 80% attendance in the same course will not be permitted to sit for the examination.
    2. If I am not able to attend the course, can I reschedule the course or request a refund?
      Once an application has been accepted, neither refunds or  course transfers will be permitted.  However, applicants who are unable to attend may arrange for a substitute by completing the "Application Form for Replacement of Course Applicant" and notifying the Association at least 10 days prior to the course commencement. A $100 administration fee will be charged.
    C) Examination results and certificates
    1. How can I check my result after the announcement?
      You may check your result  either 1) in person at our service counter: 4/F, St. John Tower,2 MacDonnell Road, Central or 2) through our enquiry hotline at 2524 4888 using your preset caller ID numbers. The fast key is 1-1-1.
    2. How do I collect the certificates after I have passed the examination?
      If you are registered through an organization, the certificate must be collected by the organization.
      If you have registered individually, qualified candidates will receive the certificate by post approximately two weeks after the date of the result announcement (applicable only  to the Certificate in First Aid Course). For re-examinations or any other circumstances requiring re-issuance of certificates, a fee of HK$ 50 per copy will be charged.
      If you are a Brigade member, the certificate must be collected through the Brigade Office.
    3. Can I get the certificate by mail for other courses?
      Individual candidates may apply by submitting the lower part of the "pink card" or a copy of their ID Card, together with a crossed cheque for HK$80 (for ODRC/HDRC/BFA/AHN) or HK$30 (for IFA/CPR/AED/AEDODRC/CPRAED/CPRAEDODRC/PETFA), made payable to "Hong Kong St. John Ambulance". Applications should be sent to the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F, St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong.
    4. If I am not able to attend the examination, how do I apply for re-scheduling?
      Applicant must submit a completed "Re-Scheduling of Examination Application Form" with reasonable justification. Copies of supporting documents, such as Medical Certificate must be attached. Application with $50 administration fee must reach the Association Office within a month from the scheduled examination date.
    5. I have lost my First Aid Certificate, how can I obtain a new one?
      Choice 1:
      Apply in person at the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F, St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong, during office hours. The certificate can be re-issued immediately upon payment of a HK$50 administration fee.
      Choice 2:
      Submit a completed "Re-issue of Certificate Application Form" together with a HK$50 administration fee to the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association, 4/F, St. John Tower, 2 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong. A notification will be sent to you within approximately 14 working days. Please bring the notification in person to St. John Tower to collect the certificate.
    6. If I fail one of the three subjects in the First Aid Examination, how do I apply for a supplementary examination?Candidates who fail one subject may apply for a Half Day Refresher Course for the failed subject within three months from the date of the result announcement.
    7. If I am not able to attend the One Day Refresher Course, can I still take the examination?
      Yes. Candidates may take the examination even if they are unable to attend the course.
    8. Does the ODRC/HDRC course fee include certificate mailing service?No. The ODRC/HDRC course fee does not include certificate mailing service. To request certificate delivery by post, individual candidates must return the last part of the registration card (if available) and a copy of their HKID card, together with a crossed cheque made payable to “Hong Kong St. John Ambulance.” The fee is HK$80 for certificate mailing service.
