“Certificate in First-aid” (Blended mode) – Online theory (EFAT) and Face-to-Face Practical (EFAP)

1. To introduce principles of First Aid in 30 hours

1. Individual Application
   - HK$150 per candidate (for Online Theory) + HK$200 per candidate (for Face-to Face Practical) (including registration fee, examination fee, certificate and postage service fee* and maintenance fee) with class size from 20 to 30.
   【* One-off certificate is included only for those who passed the examination of the original examination schedule, extra fee for HK$80 (certificate fee & mailing service) would be charged for remedial or reschedule】
2. Government/Voluntary Organization
   - HK$350 per candidate (including registration fee, examination fee, certificate and postage service fee* and equipment maintenance fee) with class size from 20 to 30.

3. Corporate Firm
   - HK$10,500 per class (including registration fee, examination fee, certificate and postage service fee* and equipment maintenance fee) with class size from 20 to 30.

4. For Group Applications, organizers must submit participant list including personal datas, full Name in English and email addresses. Each participant shall provide an unique email address, please do not use the same email address for different participants. Participants must have devices that support online learning (Computers/Tablets/Mobile Phones). Organizers need to fill in the proposed dates for Online Theory and Face-to -Face Practical session when submit the application form. The Online Theory can only be commenced 10 working days after the submission. All participants need to complete the Online Theory within 6-week after receiving the login details and will be awarded E-certificates after Post-unit quizzes. Organizers must submit all participant’s E-certificates at least 5 working days before the Face-to-Face Practical sessions commence. For those who cannot submit their E-certificates will be disqualified to register for the Face-to-Face Practical sessions. Once the organizers have paid for the course fees and registered for the courses. No rescheduling/extension of course period and replacement of course participants will be entertained.
5. For course/examination conducted outside Hong Kong, a subsistence allowance of HK$500/day each Examiner will be charged.
6. Examination may be conducted at specified time/date/venue. An extra fee of HK$1,000 will be charged.

14-hour (Online Theory) + 16-hour (Face-to-Face Practical)

1. Candidates must complete the whole Online learning process and pass ALL post-unit quizzes, in order to apply for the Face-to Face Practical Sessions.
2. Candidates attending less than 80% (13 hours) of the practical sessions will not be eligible for examination. Each candidate must be examined in the following subjects:
   - Theory of First Aid
   - Bandaging Technique
   - Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
3. Candidates, who failed in either one part of the Examination, can apply for the supplementary examination within 3 months from the date of the result announcement. Failures in 2 or 3 subjects are not eligible to sit for the supplementary examination.
4. The result announcement date will be made known to the candidates during the examination. Candidates can check examination results through the Association counter, or through our enquiry hotline on 2524 4888, using their preset caller ID number(s). Candidates will not be informed individually of the examination results. Examination results will be sent to course organizers.

1. Candidates who passed the examination will be awarded the "Certificate in First Aid" recognized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region which is valid for 3 years. For re-certificate, candidates should take a refresher course/re-examination before the expiry of the certificate.
2. "Certificate in First Aid" has been accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications under the Qualifications Framework (QF) as QF Level:3, QF Credits:10, QR Registration No.: 15/003057/L3 and validity period: 1 October 2015 to 30 September 2029.
3. Certificates Collection:
   - Individual application: Qualified candidates will receive the certificate by post around 2 weeks from the date of result announcement. For re-examination/reschedule or any other reasons that require the re-issuance of certificates, a fee of HK$50/copy shall be applied.
   - Group application: Result slips and qualified candidate certificates by post to the course organizers 2 weeks from the date of result announcement. For re-examination/reschedule or any other reasons that require the re-issuance of certificates, a fee of HK$50/copy shall be applied.

"Certificate in First Aid" course has been awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certificate by BSI (Certificate No.: FS 708014).

Nursing and healthcare related staff who completed "Certificate in First Aid" Course (FA) can be awarded with 16 CNE points. Application shall be submitted in advance with valid practising certificate.

4. Class will be cancelled if the Black Rainstorm Warning/Typhoon Signed No.8 or above is hoisted, and class will be resumed when the signal is lowered 2 hours before class commencement

*Note:

1. In general, students in the "Certificate in First Aid Course" of the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance will be required to make a minimum of 21 hours of self-study time to see the practical demonstration – First Aid focus (for Public) and textbook contents of the First Aid manual before the commencement of the course.
2. Students are also prepared to use a minimum of 37 hours of self-study time for the written and practical assessment.
3. "Certificates in First Aid" Course (Face-to-Face mode)
   • If the 4-day continuous course, you need to use a minimum of 3 hours of self-study time every day before and after class to prepare lessons.
   • If 10 lessons are required to make a minimum of 1.5 hours of self-study time should be used before and after each class.
4. "Certificates in First Aid" Course (Blended mode)
   • Students shall spare at least 1-hour self-study time for each online unit (12 in total).
