Pet First Aid and Emergency Care Course (PETFA)

On 8 June 2015, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Council Chairman, Dr. David Mok Lai-foo and the President of the Hong Kong Veterinary Association, Dr. Tom Mangan and witnessed by the Director of the St. John Ambulance Association, Dr. Chung Chin-hung, and a Member of the Hong Kong Veterinary Association, Dr. Kathryn Tai.

PETFA classes have grown in popularity since the first class was commenced on 30 August 2015.  All courses were fully registered within two days after the date of public announcement.  Around 500 participants attended the courses.  Media coverage for PETFA was extensive, which included TVB News Magazine 《新聞透視》, ATV, Singpao, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Oriental Daily, Sing Tao Daily, Mingpao JUMP, Headline Daily, Wen Wei Po, Ta Kung Pao, AM730 and Apple Daily etc.

The PETFA 《寵物急救》English manual was prepared by Dr. Kathryn Tai of the Hong Kong Veterinary Association and then translated into Chinese and published in August 2015.
