1. Objectives
  a. To introduce the principles of Defibrillation
  b. To practise the operation of AED
  c. To provide hands-on practice in the application of AED on special situations
     
2. Charges
  a. Individual Application
    - HK$400 per candidate (including certificate & equipment maintenance fee)
  b. Group Application
    - HK$400 per candidate (including certificate & equipment maintenance fee) with a minimum class size of 18
  c. Renew Certificate Individual Application: HK$200 per candidate (including certificate & equipment maintenance fee)
  d. Renew Certificate For Group Application: HK$200 per candidate (including certificate & equipment maintenance fee) with a minimum class size of 18
  e. Re-issuance of certificate (if required) is charged at HK$50 / copy
       
3. Course Content
  a.
Physiology of Heart and Cardiac Arrest Rhythms

  c. Introduction of AED
  d. AED Operation & Protocols
  e. Safety and Maintenance
  f. Scenario Practice of AED
  g. Written & Practical Evaluation
       
4. Course Duration
  4 hours (including written & practical evaluations)
     
5. Medium of Instruction
  Cantonese/ English
     
6. Examination
  a. Written Test and Practical Assessment
  b. The result announcement date will be made known to the candidates during the examination. Candidates can check examination results through the Association counter, or through our enquiry hotline on 2524 4888, using their preset caller ID number(s). Candidate will not be informed individually of the examination result.
       
7. Certificate
  a. Successful candidates will be awarded the AED Provider Certificate which is valid for two years. For re-certification, candidates should take a refresher course/ re-examination before the expiry of the certificate.
  b. Certificate will be ready for collection during office hours at the Association counter immediately after the announcement of examination result and should be collected within 3 months.
  c. The organizer or his/her delegate must bring alone the original copy of the result slip to the Assoication counter during office hours for collection of certificates.
       
8. Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Course
  Practicing Nursing staff who participated in AED Provider Course can be awarded with 3 CNE points.
       
9. Qualification of Candidate
  Holder of a valid First Aid Certificate recognised by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or Holder of a valid Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate or Staff working in Paramedic/ Healthcare professions.
       
Remarks:
 
  • Chinese courses are held quarterly and English courses are held on request
  • Prices are subject to change without prior notice
  • For individual application, please check Course Timetable and complete Individual Application Form (AFI)
  • For group application, please complete Group Application Form (AFII)
  • Class will be cancelled if the Black Rainstorm Warning/Typhoon Signed No.8 or above is hoisted, and class will be resumed when the signal is lowed 4 hours before class commencement
